Far up along the coast of Northern Norway and on the surrounding islands, majestic peaks rise directly from the sea, offering incredible conditions for ski touring. The views over the fjords are breathtaking, and the mountains’ shapes provide excellent terrain for unforgettable off-piste skiing.
To make the experience even more unique, we’ll be living aboard a large sailboat, which also serves as our transport between the peaks. We hike up the mountains under our own power and then ski back down—getting this close to nature and the elements is hard to beat!
Weekly Program The following is a preliminary program subject to change depending on snow conditions, tides, weather, and wind.
Saturday: Travel day and arrival in Tromsø. The sailboat is docked at Tromsø Harbor, which is easily reached by taxi or airport bus. You’ll be welcomed aboard by our skipper and settle in on the boat together with the mountain guide.
Sunday–Thursday: The following days will be filled with sailing and incredible ski touring. Depending on weather, wind, and where you spent the night, the schedule may vary: some days begin with 1–2 hours of sailing, while others start directly from the harbor. On some days, you'll hike up one side of a mountain and ski down the other, where the boat will be waiting. The peaks can reach up to 1300 meters above sea level. In the evenings, there’s a chance to fish—gear is available onboard. You can fish straight from the boat or take the dinghy or a SUP for a short outing. Dinners are enjoyed together onboard, with the mountains and sea as your backdrop.
Friday: You wake up in Tromsø, enjoy breakfast on the boat, and say goodbye—until next time.
Included:
5 days of guiding by a certified mountain guide (UIAGM/IFMGA)
